You may notice a few more lemonade stands around the metro this weekend. It's all for LemonAID, a project put on by Feed the Children and Metro Family magazine to benefit tornado victims.
July 26-28 there will be more than 50 lemonade stands across the metro selling lemonade, money raised will be used for school supplies and food for children affected by spring storms. "Feed the children is very committed to supporting these communities that were affected, and we are here for the long term," Said Erin Engelke with Feed the Children.
Organizers say any donation will be appreciated, "We'd love people to donate whether it's a dollar or 20 dollars," Engelke said.
The families and volunteers hosting the lemonade stands are also in competition, the stand that brings in the most donations wins a free trip to Texas, "It's really important for us to remain invested and support these families as we can," Engelke said.
