The Oklahoma City Thunder have won three games in a row for the first time since they lost Russell Westbrook to his third knee surgery since last April. No surprise that Kevin Durant has been a big reason for the recent run. Durant has scored at least 30 points in seven straight games, which includes his career high 54 point game against Golden State Friday.
But Durant has always taken as much pride in his improved playmaking as his scoring. In Sunday's win over Sacramento Durant had nine assists to go along with his 30 points. A number of those to power forward Serge Ibaka, who appears to be forming a nice bond with Durant on the basketball court.
"It's always been there with us, me and Serge," said Durant. Durant added, "I know his game. He know's mine. It's just a matter of us making shots."
Ibaka agrees. "You play with a guy like Kevin you know if you're open he's going to pass you the ball. It makes you more comfortable."
The Thunder will need Durant and Ibaka to be at the top of their game Tuesday night because they'll host Portland. It's the third meeting between the two teams. Portland has won the two previous meetings. Tipoff is 7:00.
