Kansas City cop gets down to street dance party with kids
Some teens in Kansas City had a bit of a run in with cops on a KCMO street, but it's not what you'd think. The officers and kids had an old-fashioned dance off!A little boy starts up the dance off with some big moves. Not to be outdone, Kansas City, Missouri, police officer Krebs responds with some flashy moves of his own that were, well, something. It's a series of arm flailing and toe tapping he calls "The Octopus.""What I was thinking was 'I can't believe I'm doing this'," Officer Krebs told KSHB.But he did and then one of the kids took a turn."This other kid came out and showed me how he did 'The Octopus',"After trading turns for a while, Officer Krebs ended with his move of the day. So who won? Everyone. The teens were the best dancers and the police officer won some friends. This short video is just a snapshot into the officer that Krebs wants to be."When I went through the academy and when I first got hired on I told them how I want to interact with the community and start building some rapport with the citizens because I feel like if we build rapport with them, then they're more likely to call us when they need us," Krebs said.A job well done to this man in blue.
