An overturned semi transporting chicken nuggets caused quite a headache for interstate crews and drivers Tuesday morning.
The driver of the semi was heading west on I44 around 2:00 AM when it lost its load. The truck was navigating the curve as the interstate turns south when he lost control and overturned. The truck flipped over and hit a barrier wall. The truck was carrying chicken nuggets at the time of the accident. A second truck arrived to pick up the load. The driver was uninjured, but a passenger in the semi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation had narrowed the interstate to one lane through most of the morning. Just before 10:00, they closed both lanes as they worked to right the semi. Once the semi was upright, it was loaded onto a wrecker and taken away from the scene.
ODOT reopened the interstate around 10:25 AM.
