A semi truck carrying thousands of gallons of gasoline has rolled while taking an exit off I40 and Hazmat has been called in to assist with cleanup.
Around 10:45, the tanker rolled at I40 and Harrah Road in Newalla. Initial reports indicate the truck was not leaking fuel but the Oklahoma City Hazmat team was called to the scene as a precaution.
According to responders on scene, the truck was exiting the interstate onto Harrah Road when it lost control and rolled over. The driver was found a short distance away from the truck and officials are unsure if he crawled away or was thrown during the accident.
Emergency workers say he was talking on the scene and was airlifted by Eagle Med to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The truck was carrying about 8,000 gallons of gasoline and started to drip.
The eastbound on and off ramps will be closed until the truck can be turned upright and cleared.
