The Grady County Sheriff's Office says it has been called in to assist the Chickasha Police Department with the investigation into two deaths in the city.
Around 2:45 PM Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office told FOX 25 that Chickasha PD called in their assistance.
A woman was found dead inside a home on S. 25th Street and Country Club Road. As officers arrived on scene, they found a man still breathing. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition and died almost two hours later.
Chickasha Police say it began with a 911 call just after 1:30 PM Tuesday about a man who killed his estranged wife.
"Ultimately we need to keep this family in your prayers," said Asst. Chief Elip Moore, of Chickasha Police Department, "this is a very tragic situation it is something that is extremely rare for our community and so we want to be just mindful of that.
Police have not released the victims' names at this time and say it's "too early to tell" if this is a murder-suicide. An autopsy is pending.
