Florida teen arrested for DUI, neglect charges after crashing twice
(WPEC) A Florida teenager found herself in handcuffs Tuesday evening after police say she hit a bicyclist with her car and then crashed into her own home, all with a child in the car.Erin Skye Starkey, 18, was arrested Tuesday night after deputies were called to a hit and run report. A bicyclist reported that he was hit from behind by a black vehicle that didn't stop. The man's bike was damaged and he had an elbow injury. At the scene, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies said they found the driver side mirror from a Honda.Deputies soon got another accident call, this time at a home. When they arrived, they said they found the Honda, sans mirror, that was crashed into the house.Deputies said Starkey was at the front door and was holding a young child. The officer said she smelled of vomit and alcohol and was holding a child who was "covered in urine and feces that had soaked through her clothes."They also said she was falling over trying to get into the house. She denied hitting the bicyclist or her own home.She was arrested for DUI and child neglect charges.Deputies said she blew a .192 and .196 percent on a breath test. The legal limit for persons over 21 is .08 percent.
