Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a house fire your NW Expressway and Piedmont Rd. The fire broke out just before two this morning.
Firefighters say when they arrived on scene, flames were already coming from the roof of the home.
Immediately firefighters went on the defensive to attack the flames from the outside.
Crews had a difficult time fighting this fire because there were no fire hydrants in the area.
District OKC Fire Chief Chad Everett said, "We didn't have any plugs close by, so we had to set up a tanker shuttle operation. It just took a little while to knockdown the fire because it had such a head start."
The homeowner was away at the time of the fire. No injuries, but firefighters say the home is a total loss.
