Fire breaks out at mobile home park in Spencer

Firefighters battled a fire at a mobile home park in Spencer Tuesday morning.

The fire reportedly broke out in a trailer in Oak Ridge Village around 5 a.m.

A man was sleeping on a couch in the living room when a smoke detector went off inside the home. The man saw flames and quickly ran to his parents trailer to call firefighters. Firefighters say the fire started in the back bedroom and was contained to that area. Fighters were able to put out the fire quickly, but there is smoke damage to the inside and outside of the trailer.

NE 25th and Douglas Ave were closed down for a little while as firefighters battled the flames.

Nicoma Park firefighters were called in for extra assistance.

Authorities do not know what caused the fire but are not calling it suspicious.

No one else was inside the trailer at the time and the man is expected to be fine.
