Buildings evacuated due to NW OKC gas leak


      As of 8:00 p.m. Oklahoma Natural Gas workers continued work at the scene of a gas line break. The gas has been shutoff.

      The gas line break occurred when contractors punctured a line.

      Work is expected to be finished by midnight.

      Businesses in NW Oklahoma City were evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of a gas leak.

      The Oklahoma City Fire Department tells FOX 25 they have evacuated one building after a gas leak was detected near Robinson and NW 10th St around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.

      Robinson was blocked between NW 10th and NW 11th streets while NW 10th was blocked from Hudson to Robinson as crews worked to repair the leak.

      Oklahoma Natural Gas is on the scene and expect to have the leak repaired shortly.

      A cause of the leak has not been identified.
