Deputies say Mustang man downloaded child porn, tried covering his tracks

Canadian County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Evans at his home in Mustang Wednesday night.

A Mustang man sits behind bars in Canadian County on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.

57-year-old Randy Evans was arrested in his home in northeast Mustang Wednesday night.

Investigators say they obtained a search warrant after determining that child pornography was being downloaded and distributed from a computer in his home. When officers arrived, they reported finding several items including cell phones and laptops. They say in their investigation, they found images of children as young as three years old being victimized by adults.

According to a release from the Canadian County Sheriff's Office, Evans admitted he had 'dabbled' with child porn for the past ten years. Deputies say Evans told them he would surf for child porn online and download it for sexual gratification. He then would delete the file in an attempt to conceal his actions, according to the report.

"While Evans adamantly denied having ever victimized a child, these types of behaviors often lead persons to act our their fantasies on innocent children. While I'm extremely pleased we've been able to eliminate his ability to share child pornography, I can only hope Mr. Evans never actually violated a child," said Randall Edwards, Canadian County Sheriff.

Evans was booked into the Canadian County Jail for possession and distribution of child pornography on a $125,000 bond. If convicted, he could get 40 years in prison.
