Chelsea Washington

Chelsea Washington began her career in broadcast journalism, as an editorial assistant, at the Fox News Channel (FNC) in Washington, DC. She was subsequently promoted to{} associate producer. After two years at FNC, she moved to WRIC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Richmond, VA, as a general assignments reporter.{} Her beat included investigative stories on local and state government.{} Most recently, Chelsea worked at WIS-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia SC, as a reporter/weekend anchor and host of a weekly public affairs program.{} In the latter role, Chelsea had complete responsibility for content, scripts and selection of guests.{} The program covered a broad range of community interest topics as well as pop culture and political issues.{} Chelsea{} earned a BA degree in public relations from James Madison University and a master's degree in broadcast journalism and public affairs from{} the American University.{} She enjoys reading, writing and the arts.{} Chelsea is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.{} Having lived only on the East Coast - except for a couple of childhood years at Fort Hood, Texas - Chelsea looks forward to becoming acquainted with Oklahoma.
