Caught on camera: trooper and suspect fall 30 feet from highway overpass

Police in Michigan have released stunning video of an officer going overboard to catch his suspect.

The Saginaw, Michigan officer was involved in a high-speed chase that evolved into a foot pursuit. It ended with a suspect and the police officer tumbling over a highway overpass.

The two men fell about 30 feet and landed in a grassy area. Both survived and were hospitalized.

The officer suffered a back injury and has been released. He's currently on paid leave as he recovers at home.

The suspect broke his leg and wrist in the fall. He was on probation for an alcohol offense when he started the chase. He's been arrested for violating his probation.

Officials in Michigan say they believe the officer was so focused on catching the suspect, he was unaware where he was on the overpass.
