Alabama couple admits to hanging puppy, posting pictures to Facebook
A couple is accused of hanging their puppy by its neck, then posting pictures of it on Facebook.
The pictures are shocking, too shocking for us to show. A small black puppy strung up and dangling from the ceiling of a home as his owners snapped pictures and posted them to Facebook.
Dallas county investigators were tipped off about the Facebook post and launched an investigation into the puppy's owners. 26-year-old Caroline Dunnam and 23-year-old Andrew Parrish turned themselves in Friday for animal cruelty.
"I guess they thought it was a joke or something to hang a poor little dog," said Michael Jackson, a Dallas County District Attorney
The post was titled "My Poor Baby". Comments on Caroline Dunnam's Facebook page show her taking flak over the incident but she fired back, admitting to hanging the dog and saying she didn't care what anybody thought.
As for her pet, the puppy managed to survive the ordeal and he's doing much better. He's being cared for at the Selma Animal Hospital.
The staff calls him Timmy and they say he's come out of his shell as he recovers.
Dunnam and Parrish are free on bond for animal cruelty charges.
