1 dead, 1 critical following plane crash near Ardmore

One man is dead and another is in critical condition following a plane crash in southern Oklahoma Saturday. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the 1967 Piper Cherokee crashed at 2:15 p.m. Saturday approximately one mile south of the Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport.The 63-year-old pilot was declared dead at the scene while the 58-year-old passenger was transported to Mercy Hospital in Ardmore and later airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in critical condition. The identities of the two men have not yet been released. The crash is still under investigation.
